What are you grateful for in 2023?
One American tradition that I really enjoy is the culture of gratitude around Thanksgiving in November. It is a great way to wrap up a year and remember the good things that have happened in your life.
In this blog post, we will reflect on the good that has happened in 2023 so far, and I will list ten things that I am grateful for this year.
Setting the foundation – What are you grateful for?
When I started planning for this post, I kept thinking of how much energy I have given this year. Then I reflected on the fact that I saw some results, created memories, had reasons to smile, and had opportunities to enjoy life this year. Even in intense years, we still have much to be grateful for.
Here are the questions I asked myself to create my gratitude list:
Who were the incredible people that I connected with?
What professional goals did you accomplish?
What valuable life lessons did I learn?
What skills did I not know I had?
What experiences made you smile?
MC's Story: 10 things that I am grateful for this year
Being Healthy and alive: Every day I am alive is a gift, and I am grateful.
Having my nuclear family: I love having my son and my husband, who I get to see every day.
Having my extended family: It certainly takes a small village of people who are there and celebrate life with me.
Working with my team and partners at work: in 2023, work was something that I dedicated a lot of my time to. The people I work with made it all worth it.
Being resilient in times of change: the year at work started with a major shakeup, and I was able to adapt to our new world.
Traveling with my family: seeing my son experience new cities at a very young age makes me very happy.
Being financially free: for the longest time, I was very focused on saving my money. This year, I permitted myself to splurge a little.
Visiting the Island of St. Marin for work: I have been fortunate to travel to many excellent places for work. However, this trip was very special because of the location and the milestone of my first solo trip after becoming a mother.
Being able to give back: Since I had my son, I have not been able to teach, coach, and speak at as many events as I did previously. This year, I went back out, and it was gratifying.
Keeping a positive outlook on life: As I start thinking about next year, I am excited about life and the experiences that I will have.
